Hobbies and Interests

I've been called a dreamer, overly confident, frustratingly positive, and annoyingly optimistic. I'll own all of it, because what drives me is a genuine obsession with growth and the belief that life is too interesting to stay comfortable. I treat my free time like a personal R&D lab, setting ambitious goals and then reverse-engineering how to get there.

Right now, that looks like tackling my "30 Things to Do in My 30s" list. On the fitness front, I'm actively training for an Ironman 70.3 while chasing specific benchmarks: a sub-6:30 mile, sub-20-minute 5K, benching 225, and somehow learning to do a backflip. The adventure side keeps me constantly moving, with goals ranging from bungee jumping and solo camping trips cave diving, rafting on the Ocoee, and exploring a new hiking trail every month throughout Tennessee and the Great Smoky Mountains.

Creatively, I'm a recording arts guy at heart. I design and build guitars, work toward releasing an instrumental EP, and I'm currently learning pieces like "Clair de Lune," "Silent Snow," and "I Can Go the Distance" on piano. Film photography has become a genuine passion that pairs perfectly with my hiking goals, giving me a completely different medium for capturing the world around me.

Beyond the physical and creative pursuits, I'm working toward HSK3 fluency in Mandarin, building a watch collection, investing in real estate, and maintaining consistent reading and writing habits. I'm a firm believer in being a lifelong student, whether that's taking cooking classes, golf lessons to consistently shoot sub-90, diving into guided Bible studies, or simply picking up a new skill because it looks interesting.

This space is essentially a snapshot of the things that keep me inspired and remind me there's always something new to learn, build, or conquer. If any of this resonates with you, I'd genuinely love to connect.

Storyteller

My entire life I have loved stories. It doesn’t matter what form that story takes whether it be a movie, music, tv show, book, poem, video game, or even my own imagination. Stories move and unite the world. Recently I decided to build my own world and tell my own story in the form or writing my first book. If you would like to give it a read I have attached the prologue of my novel here for you to read. I hope you enjoy. The rest coming soon:)
